​Hacking Dermatology would like to thank all participants, mentors, judges, and partners for their spirit, expertise, and support. On October 16, 2018, the final 5 teams (plus several additional teams who applied for inclusion) competed for three grants in the total amount of $55k. The winners are:

1st Place: Lucid

Lucid is a first-in class personalized and automated home patch testing solution. We replace the months of wait time and multiple in-office visits of traditional patch testing by sending patients personalized patch kits based on their health history, occupational exposures, and a digital assessment of their personal health products. Patch test results are instantly interpreted at home using computer vision technology and translated into easy-to-follow product recommendations that improve patient adherence and long-term health

Tie for 2nd Place: MatchLab
MatchLab uses advanced computing to solve the most crippling problems in dermatological innovation Standardize your images Use our technology in your research or application to collect skin data that's actually usable Clinical Opinions at Scale Use our global network of teledermatologists to upgrade your application's intelligence to the next level Breakthrough Computer Vision Our technologies can perform dermatological tasks such as skin segmentation faster and more accurately than any other solution currently on the market

Tie for 2nd Place: RxThat
RxThat connects patients, pharmacies and providers through a disruptive technology platform that transforms healthcare system interoperability, resulting in concurrent and cooperative control of prescription price, increased medication adherence, more affordable care, and better healthcare delivery. RxThat is an online prescription marketplace that provides patients accurate, real-time pricing comparisons across multiple pharmacy options through a mobile or desktop application. Patients find out their out-of-pocket costs for their prescriptions in seconds based on their insurance benefit information and can choose their pharmacy accordingly. RxThat provides dermatologists a secure portal for prescription status monitoring across multiple pharmacies and efficient enrollment of patients in Rx assistance & pharmaceutical manufacturer programs.
Hacking Dermatology: June 8 - 10, 2018
Cambridge Innovation Center - Venture Cafe

On June 10th, the top five teams were awarded grants in the amount of $5k. The top teams will be invited to compete for a total of $50k in additional grant funding in Fall 2018. Other teams, both those who participated in the hackathon and those who did not, are invited to apply for entry to the Fall 2018 pitch competition. This application will be made available in mid-August 2018.

The winning teams from the June 2018 hackathon were (in alphabetical order):

Eir is a voice enabled AI assistant for patients with chronic dermatological challenges. Eir makes it simple and easy for patients to track their medical conditions and help supercharge consultations by creating ingestible summaries for patients to share with their dermatologist, resulting in happier patients and fewer doctor visits.

HyJamas™ is simple to use and comfortable sleepwear for eczema patients and people suffering from skin dryness. At the core of HyJamas is a proprietary moisturizing fabric technology, which prevents itch flare ups and promises a good night's sleep.

Matchlab provides cosmeceutical companies with key insights on product performance across various target populations. We provide an application for consumers to try new test products and a dashboard for cosmeceutical companies to receive real-time feedback on product performances.
